Merchandise News: Translucent Slimer

Randy Faulk and his cohorts at N.E.C.A who’ve previously brought us collectible toys such as Gozer, Terror Dogs, a 15 inch Stay-Puft, and Slimer recently revealed at a Wizard World - Philly panel that they’re planning a translucent Slimer figure. Which would be released in time for Ghostbusters™: The Video Game. No word if N.E.C.A could and will be making other toys based on the game. You may recall that “likeness rights” have prevented the fan base from having the guys themselves.

Maybe their lawyers should call Louis.

Video Game News: More Proof That Ghostbusters™: The Video Game IS Ghostbusters III

The Day, a newspaper out of Connecticut asked Dan Aykroyd about Ghostbusters III at the opening of a new House Of Blues.

The Day: “Will there ever be a Ghostbusters III?”

Dan Aykroyd: “You know … in October, we are releasing the Ghostbusters video game, and it’s really the third movie … I’ve been writing on it and working with the gang, and they’ve come up with a wonderful story. So … if you want to see Ghostbusters 3, it’s the game. It’s really, really good. And it’s a family game. We’re not killing anybody. We’re only sending entities back to where they came from.”

Video Game News: Ghostbusters™: The Video Game To PSP?

When Ghostbusters™: The Video Game was originally announced for Playstation 3, Xbox 360, PC, Nintendo Wii, Playstation 2, and Nintendo DS, it seemed that Sony’s Playstation Portable (PSP) was “the bad monkey” in this situation.

PSX Extreme reported from Eurogamer that Brendan Goss, executive producer hasn’t ruled out a PSP version.

“There are discussions right now about a PSP version,” he said. “We’re waiting to see how the PS2 stuff goes from a technical side with memory, then it may get ported to the PSP.”

Video Game News: “The Video Game” Insert Box

Ghosthead Dustin submitted pictures of dummy promo inserts to Proton Charging. This one came from Dustin’s local Game Stop. There’s a pretty good chance these are or will be appearing in video game stores at least nation wide.

We can presume this is what the official covers will look like. If you were in charge of game box design, what would you come up with? It’s all for fun, if you would like to submit ideas and better yet, art work, please post at our forums.

Along the same lines Ben King began a thread at GBHQ for what the disc art for Ghostbusters™: The Video Game will look like. We really like his concept of the flashing cyclotron. Their can be other ideas, lets see them!
