Randy Faulk and his cohorts at N.E.C.A who’ve previously brought us collectible toys such as Gozer, Terror Dogs, a 15 inch Stay-Puft, and Slimer recently revealed at a Wizard World - Philly panel that they’re planning a translucent Slimer figure. Which would be released in time for Ghostbusters™: The Video Game. No word if N.E.C.A could and will be making other toys based on the game. You may recall that “likeness rights” have prevented the fan base from having the guys themselves.
Maybe their lawyers should call Louis.

The Day, a newspaper out of Connecticut asked Dan Aykroyd about Ghostbusters III at the opening of a new House Of Blues.
The Day: “Will there ever be a Ghostbusters III?”
Dan Aykroyd: “You know … in October, we are releasing the Ghostbusters video game, and it’s really the third movie … I’ve been writing on it and working with the gang, and they’ve come up with a wonderful story. So … if you want to see Ghostbusters 3, it’s the game. It’s really, really good. And it’s a family game. We’re not killing anybody. We’re only sending entities back to where they came from.”

I first saw this Venkman T-Shirt posted by a member of Ghostbusters.net last month. First glance of this design, I have problems with this t-shirt. An official Ghostbusters t-shirt from the licensee shouldn’t have errors that could have been easily avoided by doing 1 of 2 things. Putting Ghostbusters in a DVD player or at least using Google.
Before I list these errors I will say the uniform design of this t-shirt is a good idea. It just wasn’t executed well. While I suppose what under shirt we wear doesn’t matter, our bosses originally wore a black long sleeve shirt, not a white one. Also, this official t-shirt company made the same error as other licensees over the years. Instead of putting the “no ghost” logo on the shoulder, they “stuck” it on the front. Finally I get the proton pack straps. Looks out of place unless we’re wearing either a back pack or the real thing. This part of the design might have worked better if a proton pack was incorporated onto the back of the t-shirt.
I doubt it, perhaps the design can be revised and we’ll get Stantz, Spengler, and Zeddemore t-shirts. Then it would be worth $26 USD.

Ghostbusters International® learned from one of our news sites, Proton Charging that Varese Sarabande still has copies (as of May 22, 2006) of our original score. Their had been a rumor that Varese had been sold out for months. Far be it for us to actually check that out. According to Chris, webmaster of protoncharging.com and Varese Sarabande, their were less then 500 copies left.
Unfortunately Ghostbusters International® learned as of today that Varese Sarabande is sold out. Here’s hoping as we said in a past update that they’ll do a second run.

Ghostbusters International® learned this morning that Ecto Cooler®, the “citrus flavored” drink made by Hi-C (Minute Made) is back! It had been out of production for a long time. Then returned as Shoutin’ Orange Tangergreen. Sadly, it too would eventually be phased out of production. Thanks to Matt and his readers over at X-Entertainment, we now know that Hi-C is selling Ecto Cooler® as Crazy Citrus Cooler.
If you have no idea what Ecto Cooler® is or don’t know much about the connection between a fruit juice and Ghostbusters, we highly recommend you read X-Entertainment’s Ecto Cooler Bible.

Hot Topic is selling some Ghostbusters merchandise again. First up is our familiar “no ghost” red ringer/white t-shirt. Which retails for $18.00 USD. XXL costs more. They’re also selling for the first time (as far as we know) “no ghost” logo white hooded sweatshirts (hoodies) for $36.00 USD. XXL again costs more.
