I’ve been meaning to report this cool, yet late to the party in reporting it news update.
Knoxville, TN is home to our current Tennessee franchise, AdventureCon, and nearby is Paul Francis, owner of the former Universal Studios (FL) ECTO-1. The weekend of June 13-15, 2008 ECTO-1 will be on display at AC. If that sounds good, it gets better. Ernie Hudson will be a special guest and will be posing with the former Universal Studios ECTO-1.
Because of all this Ghostbusters goodness, a ghosthead gathering is scheduled to take place. As more details come together, they’ll be posted here too. I may have to know said details as there is a small chance Corporate and Ghostbusters-NJ will be in attendance.

Dr. Dimitrios Haritos from our Real Long Island Ghostbusters has begun to get the ball rolling on a possible Ghostbusters Convention. Excluding the Big Apple Franchise Gathering, this may be the closest thing Ghostbusters fans ever get to an official GB Con.
After speaking with Ernie Hudson recently at I-Con 27 and the people who run the Big Apple Con, there is a real possibility this could happen. Ecto-Con would be a convention within a big (Apple) convention.
Big Apple Con is shooting to hold Ecto-Con sometime in November. Big Apple Con and Dimitrios are guaging interest in how many people would go to an all GB Con. Please take a moment to visit the site and vote.
Ghostbusters International® fully supports a Ghostbusters convention and would love to be in attendance.

Ghosthead and “field agent,” Robert Knippels emailed us over the weekend with a recap from New Star Con.
Just wanted to tell you that I had a great day at the convention. I was in my ghostbusters uniform and I won the first prize. The good news is that I’ve heard that they will try to get some actors from Ghostbusters at the next convention. A lot of people wanted to have a picture with me and they acted like I was a movie star. In one word, it was great!
Ghostbusters International® sends our congratulations to Mr. Knippels on winning first place or the first prize. Maybe one of these days we should enter some contests. Hmm. If we get more information about anyone who was involved in Ghostbusters attending New Star Con or other events/conventions, we’ll post it here. Robert also took pictures and may be sending them to us. Or posting them over at our forums.

Thanks to a fan and our “field agent” Robert Knippels for this unfortunate update. Seems actor Mr. Ernie Hudson had to postpone/cancel his appearance at New Star Con. The good news allegedly for fans in Holland is that Ernie Hudson* may be at another convention (New Star Con or other) in The Netherlands sometime in October. As we get more information, we’ll inform all our clients, franchises, and the fans.

Normally a convention/event doesn’t get this much promotion. If Ernie Hudson* wasn’t going to be there we might not mention after con activities. Ghostbusters International® was recently informed by our “field agent” Robert Knippels of an after party the evening of May 13th. The best part is 100 people can buy tickets to have dinner with and party with Mr. Hudson among other stars. The tickets cost 35 EUR. (Around $40 USD) Drinks are a separate cost.
From an email Robert received: “Tickets can be pre-ordered at the dinner buffet ticket form on the website, or at the convention itself at the NSC info booth. The of New Star Con organization recommends to pre-order tickets because of the huge interest in tickets and a limited amount of tickets available. Don’t hesitate for too long because full = full.”

One of our fans, ectospinner informed us that he and his brother* will be at A-Kon in their flightsuits. A-Kon is a gaming/anime convention which is taking place the weekend of June 9-11 in Dallas, TX. After talking to ectospinner it seems A-Kon is one of those little of everything conventions. If their’s something strange at a convention, ghostbusters fans will fit right in.

This morning while I’m checking news sites, (we’re not always contacted with information firsthand) one of our “field agents,” Robert Knippels from the Netherlands informed the fan base that our Ernie Hudson* will be one of the guests at New Star Con which takes place in Rijswijk, Holland the weekend of May 13-14, 2006.
We do know Robert* is suppose to be at the convention. If you’re in the area, come meet and greet with Robert and of course Ernie Hudson.
