August 24, 2004 - The Busy Season
“Good afternoon ladies and gentleman of the Ghostbusting community. As the “heart of the Ghostbusters” I want to hear what your individual franchises’ plans are for our “busy season”.
For those newbies (or those who don’t know) the “busy season” is the period of time between Sept. 1st and Oct. 31st. This time is typically marked with an increase in psychokenetic, psychmagnetheric, metaphysical, supernatural/normal, and a greneral rise in paranormal phenomena world wide. Several cults and occult religions (ie, but not limited to Wiccan) celebrate the dead around this time as well as the Christian, All Hallows Eve (Halloween) We at GBI know that everyone will be running around your respectives cities, states, territories meeting and greeting with every schitzo who claims to have a paranormal experience, but we also know that there is no better time for some community awareness, and free advertising then Halloween night itself.
Plus there are always some cons/shows/community events to pop over to and hand out business cards and other cool swag from 1984 (ie bumper stickers, postcards, buttons, ect.) to all of your adoring fans. With Dragoncon in GA kicking off the busy season, and Chiller Theater on Halloween weekend in North Jersey closing up the busy season we look to have a pretty busy “busy season” ahead of us.
It’s ok to run a limited staff, or in the case of community events, close for the night (unless something evil shows up) and in fact we encourage it.
