Friday the 13th Gathering Reports
If you live in New Jersey or New York, are in a franchise or just support Ghostbusters International®, do not shop at The Garden State Plaza, located in Northern NJ. Ghostbusters are not exactly welcome there. Now the Jacksonville Outlet Center is completely different. For full reports about the NJGBA/G.B.I gathering on Friday, the 13th, check the JZGBs and GBNJ sites.
Franchise News: Southern Manhattan Branch
“Greetings, fellows of G.B.I.
As a few of you know, the southern Manhattan branch of Ghostbusters has always kept their files and database confidential. Now, it seems that keeping our database classified is no longer a necessity, and after consideration of the potential benefits, have decided to extend our information to all G.B.I. employees, and our services to the web-browsing public.
We plan to get a website up and running in the span of six months As always, we are located on the bay in the Soho district next to the Holland tunnel.” - Dr. Vincent A. Belmont, D.M., D.Litt, D.Ph, etc. etc.
Franchise News: MTGB
“Just wanted to check in with the home office again, love what you’ve done with the place by the way. Our legal woes continue to keep our business website down. We’re still in business, just having to keep it on the d/l.
Thought you GBI “old-timers” like me might get a kick out of a blast from the MTGB past. Found this the other day, good Lord was I ever that young? This was the site that raised the bar for the franchise owners. We paid that web-guy a fortune to design it…but it was all worth it. We got thousands of calls annd e-mails…ah that was a sweet time. Some of the links and things don’t work anymore, but what do you expect from an archive site?
Enjoy kids, we’ll keep you updated.” - Dr. Albert Roberts, Co CEO

Franchise News: Maryland Ghostbusters
“Sorry bout the lack of updates. We have been REALLY busy this weekend. We had a huge bust over the weekend and in the next few days I can divulge all the information. Lets just say that the MDGB are making some waves in the press in Maryland right now.” - Dr. William Ketchum, CEO

Franchise News: GBNJ
“As some of you might have heard from JZGB CEO Rich Roy, we were out and about on some area Spook Checks on Friday. It was quite an event, including a run in with a wannabe cop, so check out gbnj.com for the full story.
Also with the fall out from the Manalapan GB’s getting canned, we (GBNJ) have taken their terrirory, so we need some new ‘busters. If anyone reading this lives in/around/or is willing to relocate to the Garden State; head to gbnj and subit a letter if interest. Also because of this a major management reorganization is in the works to provide better service to our customers.” - Bill Malkin, CEO

Franchise Gathering/Recruitment Drive TODAY
Sorry for kinda the short notice, (especially if you live in NJ/NY) some last minute details needed to be hammered out. Finally (with better planning needed for next time) G.B.I’s money making franchises in New Jersey, aka NJGBA will be at The Garden State Plaza this afternoon. Why today? They got an important tip that GSP on this superstitious day may have a major creep and they need to check that out. In between zapping and trapping paranormal entities (they hope) CEOs Bill Malkin and Richard Roy will be handing out G.B.I business cards and meeting with the public.
If you’re able to, you can meet them too! The guys will be at GSP early this afternoon. And will be there until business is complete or the mall authorties ask us ‘kindly’ to leave. j/k
Here are the directions to Westfield Shoppingtown Garden State Plaza. GSP is conveniently located at the intersections of Rt. 4 & Rt. 17 and off Exits 160 & 163 (Route 17 South) from the Garden State Parkway in Paramus, NJ.
From NYC: George Washington Bridge to Route 4 West. Proceed approximately 20 minutes into Paramus and follow exit signs for GSPlaza.
Franchise News: Ghostbusters aka Franchise O
“Good evening my fellow collegues. It is with great pleasure that I bring to you the mostly new and expanded Ghostbusters: NYC or Franchise 0 website. I had Bill Malkin working his Wally Wick off to revamp the site. We moved beyond just a NYC franchise info. site and into a virtual tour of the archives of the Firehouse for our 20th anniversary celebration.
I hereby invite you all to check out the new GBNYC site.
Show your friends, show your grandma, show your dog, show the weird guy at the end of your block who talks to himself while constantly flicking a cigar he never smokes.
Please note the change in the url of the intro page, and update your bookmarks/favorites accordingly.” - Dr. Stantz, Ghostbusting Legend/CEO of Research & Development

Franchise News: Ghostbusters Chicago Division
“Hey kids, it appeares when we tried to replace our computer that was damaged in the *ahem* “Ectocell” battery experiment, we found that because there was a large ectoplasmic charge still left in the hard drive we pulled out, we ended up having a possessed hard drive when we tried to start the darn thing up in a new case.
For the last couple of months we’ve been trying carefully to pull the information saved on the computer (research material, website layout, ect.) and scan for inital posessions that may occure within the trasnfer process.” - Dan Shannon, GBCD Engineer

Nothing is really ever finished around here…
I retract part of my update from 1.28.04. The web gurus and myself thought the redesign was finished. Then I’m told a short few days later that part of the budget leveled out. With direct orders from Dr. Venkman himself (”And my checkbook.” - Dr. Venkman) the web team and I got to work putting up an entirely new message board. A better board which offers a lot more features with no outside advertising! On the downside (for a short, few minutes), you’ll have to register on the new board. It’ll be worth it. Some good discussions have already started, news which you may read on the board before I get a chance to update it here, and if that isn’t enough reason to participate, the Ghostbusters themselves are posting. C’mon everyone, Dr. Egon Spengler signed up. “It only took him about 6 months.” - Dr. Venkman
By the way, the move itself was not a sole decision. It was discussed from top level executives , then voted on by members of our previous message board.
Version 2.0 on going…
On a Sunday no less, with no overtime, I’m starting again to update the site all women love. Sorry about that everyone, Dr. Venkman is hanging with me while I ATTEMPT to update Ghostbusters International® version 2.0. “Hi, to all my fans.” - Dr. Venkman AT any rate, part of the update is changing the board link on every section, adding the new marshmallow like font to all text, and tweaking it elsewhere. If something looks off, you’ll know why. Either that or Dr. Venkman wanted to “help.”
“I’m a Ghostbuster!”
To most reading this, not quite. YOU could be. Ghostbusters International® is kicking off its recruitment drive. Its already picking up steam with about 4 NEW franchises about to join us. This spring and throughout the year G.B.I will put ourselves out there to promote the company anyway we can. In fact GBNJ CEO Mr. Malkin and myself will partially be doing this around the middle of the month.
G.B.I’s plans are basically to get the word out and explain to the Ghostbusters fans and prop…uh equipment builders what we’re about and what we do. As well as entice them with free stuff! Starting with GBI business cards. Later this year we hope to have mass quantities of 1984© bumper stickers and posters to hand out. Who knows, maybe other goodies.
“How can I help?” Glad you asked! Being in a franchise (if you are) is more then just kicking paranormal booty. Sometimes it involves media relations and other publicity. We usually call that a promotion.
- Word of mouth is the easiest way to help us with the recruitment drive. For the franchises, you can do this easily today by putting up any or all 3 of the ads already made up on your franchise site. You or your franchise members can appear in a Recruitment Drive ad. G.B.I can help you make it or you can put it together yourself.
- Also, for franchises, do something like the NJGBA will be doing. Go to cons or your malls, ya know the franchise gathering. Talk to people, bust a ghost or two, hand out cool, ‘collectable’ G.B.I merchandise.
I’m sure you may have questions and perhaps we can put a small F.A.Q together. So if you have questions, please ask. We encourage everyone who is able to, to get out there.
Be safe, getting slimed is one thing, a fellow Ghostbuster getting hurt is another. That hurts all this fun for a while so much.
NJGBA News: Don’t look into the trap!
CEOs Bill Malkin and Richard Roy did exactly that at the end of last month. Don’t worry, nothing happened to there eyes. The trap wasn’t even on (”I don’t think.” - Rich) and definitely not activated. The guys, also members of the elite NJGBA were building a 21st Century ghost trap. And doing upgrades to GBNJ’s Mark I. The last NJGBA update on the new trap had it 90% finished. You can see progress pictures from the first day and more recent progress pictures in this thread on the new message board.
Franchise News: Long Island Ghostbusters
G.B.I is happy and proud to tell our clients and franchises that Dr. PJ DeCicco is being featured in the January 27th issue of TIME magazine. If you haven’t seen it yet, check your newstands and better bookstores before its too late. “If it is too late, call the LIGBs. PJ bought every last issue.” - Dr. Venkman
